The Syrian Asylum Crisis:
The Syrian asylum crisis is considered the largest in the UN history, after reaching the number of the Syrian refugees and displaced to 9.5 million, 3 million of them are in the neighboring countries.
With the intensification of the crisis in Syria, the number of the Syrian refugees – out the border – shall exceed 3 million. Moreover, there are reports describes the increasingly appalling conditions within the country, where the civilians are exposed in some cities to the siege and hunger, and other civilians are targeted and killed without discrimination, so half the Syrians – until now – had been compelled to leave their homes and flee to save their lives. The estimated ratios showed that one out of eight Syrians fled across the border, in addition to 6.5 million people displaced inside Syria. To be known that more than half of those refugees and displaced are children. The High Commissioner United Nations for refugees (UNHCR) and other aid agencies stated that increasing numbers of families reached to asylum countries and they have been marked by shock, exhaustion, scare and their savings are depleted. Most of them have remained, for a year or more, fleeing from village to village before they took the final decision to leave the country.
The statistics about the distribution of the Syrian refugees on the host countries show that the vast majority of the Syrian refugees are still stationed in the Syria’s neighboring countries such as Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. More than four out of five refugees are struggling to make a living in towns and cities outside the camps, while 38% live in camps lacked the minimum standards of living.
