As part of its ongoing efforts to provide clean water sources to underprivileged communities in Africa, Al-Qulub Al-Rahimah International Association implemented an artesian well project in the Republic of Niger on May 25, 2023, generously funded by Al-Sayer Charitable Foundation and executed by Development for Community Service Organization, to serve the residents of Iza Mellin village and surrounding areas.
This project addresses the residents’ struggle with water scarcity and difficulty accessing clean water. The well was drilled to a depth of 130 meters, equipped with a rust-resistant steel tank with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters, and an electric pump powered by solar energy supported by 12 solar panels to ensure continuous operation.
The site was also fitted with 8 water taps and a trough for watering livestock, helping meet the daily needs of the residents and supporting the local livestock.
The project benefited approximately 10,000 people, reflecting its significant humanitarian impact in improving living conditions and alleviating the suffering of disadvantaged families
