As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to provide clean drinking water to the most vulnerable communities in Africa, the Merciful Hearts International Association has successfully completed the Saeed Jumaa Bakhit Well Project in Tijivin Village, Niger—a region that suffers from severe water scarcity and extreme heat throughout the year.

The project consists of a 120-meter-deep artesian well that provides clean and safe water for the residents of the village and neighboring areas. A 10,000-liter stainless steel water tank was installed on strong support columns to ensure continuous and safe water distribution.

A modern solar-powered pumping system with 12 solar panels was also installed to guarantee sustainable operation without the need for conventional energy sources. In addition, eight water taps with a distribution basin were constructed to facilitate organized and easy access to water for the villagers.
This project marks a significant improvement in the living conditions of Tijivin’s residents, reducing the hardship of women and children who previously had to walk long distances to fetch water. It also contributes to enhancing stability and development in the area
