The opening of the World Summit for Humanitarian Work – Istanbul

The activities of the World Summit for Humanitarian Work started today and it will last for two days 23-24 / 05/2016 in Istanbul. It was called for by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. “Ban Ki-moon” and organized by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). /60/ heads of state and government, over /6000/ officials and representatives of international bodies, civil society organizations, and media were participated in the summit.

The International Pitying Hearts Society/IPHS has been invited to attend the summit. The Engineer Arif Al-Misere’e, the President of IPHS, Dr. Amin al-Khateeb, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Mohamed Shihan, the secretary, attended the summit.

The summit includes seven round-table meetings, 15 special meetings, and 120 side events. At the end of the summit, a report will be prepared to be presented to the General Society of the United Nations by Mr. Ban Ki-moon.
